BEZEL-MAKING DEMO BY WAYNE ACTON

Wayne has been making and selling jewelry since 1974. Fabricating pieces mostly of silver, he incorporates multiple bezel-set stones. Mostly self-taught, he has devised many clever methods and tricks to make bezels.


For our program he will share many of his finished pieces plus demonstrate the following:
-Making a plain bezel to be put on a band ring including measuring, soldering, & putting completed band on backing plate.
-Making twist bezels for filigree.

-Making step bezels for tiny stones or faceted stones.
-Ways to trim and finish bezels.
-How he has customized his tools.
-How to deal with soft or brittle stones, stones with sharp corners.

You are sure to come away with many useful ideas.

MONTHLY MEETINGS & PROGRAMS


WHEN: General CMAG member meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month. Door opens at 6:45pm, meetings begin at 7:15pm, and adjourn by 9:15pm.

WHERE: Room 34 at the Multnomah Arts CEnter, 7688 SW Capitol Highway Portland 97219.

WHAT: meetings consist of a general business and a short break with refreshments, followed by a program which may be a demonstration of a technique or tool, a slide presentation, a panel discussion, or other presentation of interest to CMAG members. The CMAG Library is open before the meeting and during the break for checking out books and magazines.

WHO: Meetings are open to CMAG members and their guests.
